I would be more transparent about your work queue when you promise deliverables. That shouldn’t rock the boat too much given that everyone you deliver work for works at the same company. I’d say something like “Ideally I’ll deliver this for you next week, in reality, it could take longer, I’ve got project commitments to {colleague one} and {colleague two} for other projects. I will queue you up right after those. I hope those will finish on time but that’s not always in my control”.

It’s important for your colleagues to understand you’ve got a lot on your plate and where they sit in your work queue. If you only ever give them a possible delivery date, you’ll both end up frustrated. It’s hard to estimate how long projects take until you’ve started them so you’ll set better expectations if you tell them where in the project sequence their work will fall.
