                                  Did you know that over 22 million acres of public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is currently being leased to oil and gas companies?
                                 </b>
                                 And of the 245 million total acres of land that the BLM manages for the public, less than 20% is protected from fossil fuel development.
                                 <br/>
                                 <br/>
                                 You hear us talk about protecting public lands a lot, because it's an important issue. These lands are shared by us -- the public! -- and we want to see them protected in order to benefit wildlife, fragile ecosystems, clean air and water, our history and culture, and access to nature for future generations.

                                 <br/>
                                 <b>
                                  It's unacceptable that our government has already been handing over these precious lands to polluting companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips.
                                 </b>
                                 The Public Lands Rule was created to help balance the use of these lands -- but now the Trump administration wants to repeal it.
