                         one of the most remote and ecologically intact national parks in the United States

                        -- a vast, roadless wilderness that supports critical wildlife migration routes.

                        Right now, a proposed 211-mile industrial mining road known as the Ambler Road would cut straight through this region,

                         opening the door to heavy truck traffic, toxic mining operations, and permanent fragmentation of wildlands.

                        2. Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

                        The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge spans nearly 20 million acres of wild tundra, mountains, and coastal plain -- and it's critical habitat for polar bears, the Porcupine caribou herd, and migratory birds. It is also the sacred homeland of the Gwich'in people, whose culture and food security would be severely threatened by development.
                        <br/>
                        <br/>
                        Yet oil leasing efforts and congressional maneuvers continue to threaten its most sensitive landscapes.
                        <b>
                         Despite public opposition and legal challenges, powerful interests continue to try to industrialize the Coastal Plain, the biological heart of the Arctic Refuge.

                        We're supporting litigation to challenge unlawful leasing, standing with Gwich'in leaders, and encouraging major banks and corporations to refuse to finance Arctic drilling, a strategy that has already led to some of the world's largest financial institutions backing away.

                        And it's one of the last intact Arctic ecosystems on Earth, home to caribou herds, migratory birds, and fragile tundra wetlands.

                         weakening protections and expanding oil and gas development across sensitive habitat.
                        </b>
                        These decisions prioritize short-term corporate extraction over long-term conservation and climate stability.

                        We're challenging harmful rollbacks, rallying grassroots supporters -- driving 21,466 Arctic defense actions in 2025 alone -- and pressing Congress to uphold strong public lands protections.
