       Fred, in just three weeks, we're taking on President Trump in the Supreme Court.

       The president thinks he can overrule core principles of our Constitution and over a century of precedent – attacking the right to birthright citizenship. But the president doesn't get to decide what it means to be American. We've taken him to court twice, blocking his order to gut birthright citizenship. Now we'll be continuing that fight in the Supreme Court.

       Fred, the attack on birthright citizenship is part of President Trump's broader strategy to reshape who is recognized as fully belonging in this country. It is a direct assault on the fundamental American value of equal citizenship.
      </p>

       His executive order threatens to create a permanent subclass of U.S.-born people with no legal status, which would grow by hundreds of thousands every year. It would strip U.S.-born babies who have never known another home of vital protections and threaten to tear families apart. It is a fight we cannot afford to lose.
      </p>
      <p>
       For more than a century, the Supreme Court has affirmed the promise of the 14th Amendment: Children born in this country are citizens, regardless of the race, nationality, or immigration status of their parents. And as Cecillia and the rest of our legal team call on the justices to continue upholding that bedrock principle, supporters will be rallying outside of the courthouse.
