               Yesterday, on one of the more beautiful mornings we’ve seen this summer, I walked over to Acero Santiago. It was the charter school’s first day of the 2025-26 year. There was music, a red carpet, and pom poms — all for welcoming kids with fanfare just months after the school was narrowly saved from closure.
