Also, the digital landscape is full of gray areas, tricky choices, hurt feelings, fun connections, slippery algorithms, and false information, among other things. There are nuances kids need to be able to navigate.

So we're moving beyond concepts of screen time limits, and moving toward building healthy tech habits. We're going deeper than sharing do's and don'ts to ask, "Who are you sharing with and why?" We still teach "think before you post," but we're also equipping kids with strategies to use when mistakes inevitably happen and relationships need repair. And instead of just saying, "Don't trust everything you read," we're teaching kids that they don't have to read everything, which is the power of critical ignoring in an information-saturated world.
