       a case that may decide the future of Temporary Protected Status (TPS). TPS is designed to provide humanitarian protection for many immigrants who cannot return home safely. What's at stake are not only the futures of Syrian and Haitian TPS holders, whose specific lawsuits will be heard, but the future of the entire TPS program. Ending TPS would strip the rights of over a million people to live and work in the United States legally.

      <p>
       President Trump campaigned on ending TPS, and his administration has terminated every TPS designation that has come up for renewal, regardless of the actual conditions in those countries. Termination was a predetermined outcome based on this administration's racist and unlawful desire to end a program created by Congress.
      </p>
      <p>
       The Haiti and Syria TPS terminations are part of the Trump administration's larger efforts to eliminate humanitarian protections for millions.
      </p>
      <p>
       The government is now asking the Supreme Court to make virtually all TPS decisions unreviewable by the court system – an unprecedented power grab that would invite further lawlessness and abuses.
      </p>
      <p>
       More than 1.3 million individuals (about the population of New Hampshire) from all 17 TPS countries could lose their legal status, work authorization, and be subjected to potential detention and deportation if the Trump administration is given unfettered power to disobey Congress and arbitrarily end TPS.
      </p>
      <p>
       Stripping TPS holders' legal status would separate mixed-status families, destabilize entire communities, and cause widespread economic harm.
      </p>
      <p>
       From Haiti to Syria, TPS is a lifeline that, if taken away, will uproot the lives of millions of people. The decision is not just a legal one; it's a moral one.
