                        Friend, across the country, the staff responsible for caring for our national forests are being pushed out of their jobs. It's a shameful way to treat people who have dedicated their lives to our public lands -- and the consequences are already devastating.

                        After sweeping staff cuts by Trump and DOGE, some Forest Service districts have lost
                        <i>
                         all of their trail crews
                        </i>
                        -- along with hundreds of years of collective knowledge about how to care for these forests. What's left behind is burnout, disrepair, and a sudden and painful unraveling of the forests we all share.

                         And now the administration is heaping on more chaos by dismantling the Forest Service through a so-called reorganization.
                        </b>
                        We can't let this go on.

                        We saw the Trump administration do the same thing with National Park Service layoffs last year, leaving some parks so understaffed that

                         scientists
                        </i>
                        were cleaning bathrooms. Trails once carefully maintained, are now overgrown and impassable. Bridges are splintering and unsafe for visitors. Signs are missing. Entire routes are disappearing under fallen trees and erosion.
                        <b>
                         This is another step in the Trump administration's broader scheme to privatize public lands.
                        </b>

                        They want to let them fall into disrepair. That way, they can point to the chaos and say, “See? These aren't worth saving anyway.” But we know the truth:
