   Fred,
   <br/>
   <br/>
   My name’s Dave and I am on the Creative team that produces the content and stories that charity: water is known for. It’s one of the most rewarding – and challenging – jobs I have ever had.
   <b>
    But no job has been more rewarding and challenging than being a youth soccer coach.
   </b>
   <br/>
   <br/>
   For two years, I have coached my son and a dozen other boys, aged 9 to 11, in a YMCA league in Tennessee. Some have played soccer for years; others, when they joined the team, barely knew how to kick the ball properly. We called ourselves The Chimichangas. In our first season, we didn’t win a single game.
   <br/>
   <br/>
   And then, in our second season, something amazing happened: We started winning games. The midfielders started connecting passes, the defenders won balls, the goalies made saves, and the strikers connected on goals. I would love to say the difference was my coaching. But, honestly, it wasn’t. The difference was that the boys started playing for each other, and they started having fun. They discovered their love for the Beautiful Game.
   <br/>
   <br/>
   Now, as the boys watch the World Cup and talk about their favorite players, we are all reminded of what makes soccer the universal sport:
   <b>
    All you need is a ball and some friends. And one more thing: water.
   </b>
   <br/>
   <br/>
   It gets pretty hot here in Middle Tennessee. The boys take for granted, when they tote their plastic water bottles to practices and games, that they have unlimited access to clean water. They can’t imagine life for a boy like Opiyo in Uganda’s Gulu District, who has to walk a mile to gather water for himself and his family. Opiyo would rather be playing soccer. He’d rather be busy being a kid.
   <br/>
   <br/>
   <b>
    Now, during the World Cup, our community is funding 21 clean water projects – about $10,000 each – for kids like Opiyo. And here's the best part: for every project we fund, a generous partner funds another. Your one-time gift helps us double our impact, project for project.
    <a>
     Give today and help a kid be a kid.
    </a>
   </b>
   <br/>
   <br/>
   With gratitude,
   <br/>
   <br/>
