  <p>
   Hey there,
  </p>
  <p>
   <em>
    What does “having a brew” mean to me today vs. 10 years ago?
   </em>
  </p>
  <p>
   It’s a question I’ve found myself coming back to lately. And the answer has changed more in the last 10 years than I ever expected.
  </p>
  <p>
   I can’t help but think back to taste-testing beers at 6 am...For a brewer, that can be a conflicting moment. It’s part of the job. Making sure every batch is exactly as it should be. But it’s also something more. You’re tasting ingredients you selected, worked with farmers to grow, milled, mashed, and transformed over time. There’s real joy in that. But for me, there was always a tension too. I wanted to be present for the craft and the process, but not always for the alcohol that came with it.
  </p>
  <p>
   When I met Bill and heard his vision, saw the literal and figurative thirst he had for a delicious, intentionally crafted, fully flavored NA beer, I was intrigued. As brewers, innovation and going out of bounds was, and is, part of the allure. As we brewed, again and again, chasing a process that could meet our standards, I started to notice a shift...I was in tune with the experience more than I ever had been. I was still milling, selecting hops, mashing, cleaning (a lot), and sampling constantly. But there was no tension.
  </p>
  <p>
   I still remember one early morning, hand bottling one of our first batches of

   with Bill. We only had five gallons, and it was all going with Bill to sample people out there in the world. I was genuinely bummed! I wanted to drink it right then, and later that day, and again that night. It was probably the best sip I’d ever had. That’s when it really clicked for me. What I loved was the craft, the ingredients, the community, and the pursuit of quality. Alcohol had just been along for the ride.
  </p>
  <p>
   These days, thanks to Athletic, I get to enjoy a brew whenever I want. Morning, afternoon, or night, with new friends and old, without compromising anything in my day. Turns out, I’m drinking more great brews than ever.
  </p>
  <p>
   With appreciation,
